16 racers came out on the evening of August 31st for the finale of our 20k time trial series. Although still quite humid, the 10 mph south wind had started to diminish and the temperature had dropped a few degrees from the day's high 80's by the time the first soloist went off at 7:10.

Every racer that came out was presented with a pair of stylish, space-age, black Powerade/IF team issue socks. Afterward, everyone gathered for free pizza at Bud's Bar in Jefferson and prizes were awarded.

Cody McCullough set a new standard for the Eddy Merckx category (and collected a $100 bounty) by knocking 10 seconds off the previous record established by Jay Chesterman (30:22, 24.55 mph) that had withstood the test of time since August 26th, 2009.

Ryan Kraii was awarded $50 in recognition of being the Most Improved rider over the series.

Had there been an award for Most Consistent, Bob Greigg would've have taken that prize. For the last 3 races of the series, Bob's times were 31:58, 31:57 and 31:59, respectively. Bob regrets that he can't seem to go any faster. However, he is pleased that he's finally broken through the elusive 32 minute barrier.

Had there been a Twilight Zone prize it would've been awarded this evening too. Oddly, in 3 of the 4 races in this year's series, riders would finish with identical times. However, and stranger yet, this evening a total of 4 riders recorded identical times in 2 separate categories. Had Casey Swenson gone just 1 second faster, 3 riders would have freakishly clocked the same time in the same category.
