Hey, some of us actually do race our bikes!

Kevin Vanderlinden finished 2nd in the 1-lap, 40+ age group road race at the Iowa Games on July 27th. This race also served as a qualifying event for the 2015 National Senior Games to be held in Minneapolis. Kevin finished 1st among the 50-59 age group riders (the top 3 qualify) so his spot is secure if he wants to go. Kevin won the Sport class, 50-59 age group MTB race, also at the Iowa Games, on August 30th. On September 7th he finished 2nd in the age 40+ B class in the Ridgeline Rush MTB race at Brandon, South Dakota.

Bob Greigg finished 4th in the A race at the Spoke-n-Sport criterium #4 on August 30th in Sioux Falls.

On August 31st Jay Chesterman, Bill Feiges and Kelly Irwin raced the Dakota 50, the very popular 50-mile MTB race at Spearfish, South Dakota. Riders are scored with their overall place and in their age groups. There were 510 finishers this year. Our newest teammate, Kelly Irwin, placed an outstanding 14th overall and 11th in his 30-39 age group. Jay finished 28th overall and 2nd in the 40-49 age group. Bill finished 112th overall and 9th in the 50+ age group.

Marc Walter spent his Labor Day Weekend road racing in the St. Louis suburbs at the Gateway Cup. He raced 6 criteriums in the Masters' 40-49 age group or the Cat. 2-3 class. His best placement (in large fields) was 22nd.

In early season cyclo-cross racing Jon Nelson and Brent Linn went to Knoxville, Iowa September 13th-14th. On Saturday, Jon won the 45+ age group race and placed 11th in the Cat. 1,2,3 race later that day. Brent finished 3rd in the 50+ age group races on Saturday and Sunday. Jon placed 2nd in the 45+ race on Sunday. -Posted 9/18/2014
